Our Famiglia Story

Famiglia means Family in Italian. And for us, that word is not just a name — it is the soul and beginning of everything we do.

Our journey started in the simplest, sweetest way possible: with a tiny handwritten note from our then 6-year-old daughter, Skylar.
On it, she wrote in her innocent scrawl: “Dear Mum and Dad, let’s open a pizza shop.”

What made that note extraordinary was that Skylar had never liked pizza at all. Her comfort had always been noodle soup, rice, and asian style simple meals she grew up with. Pizza was never her thing… until one family gathering when she tasted a slice that changed everything. It was light, airy, and crisp unlike any she had tried before. She loved it so much she asked for more the very next day.

Seeing her eyes light up over something she had always rejected sparked something powerful in us. Food had brought joy, surprise, and connection to that moment — and we realized that this magic was worth sharing.

So her little dream became our big mission.

​

We had no formal culinary training in pizza-making. What we did have was determination, a deep love for our family, and a belief that the most meaningful things in life begin around a shared table. And so began our journey.

We travelled across Singapore and beyond, tasting, studying, learning. We spent countless nights experimenting in our kitchen, mixing, kneading, failing, and trying again. Dough that over-fermented, crusts that turned too dense, flavors that fell flat… every mistake taught us something. Every setback pulled us closer to what we were chasing.

Slowly, a recipe began to emerge. A base that was light and airy inside, crisp and fragrant outside. A texture so delicate you could eat slice after slice, yet full of flavor that lingered with every bite.

 

After nearly a year of trials, we finally achieved the magic we hoped for.
And when Skylar took her first bite and said with a smile,
“Yay! I want this with Nutella please?”
We knew our journey had found its heart.

Famiglia Panizza was born not from a business idea but from love, family, and the belief that food has the power to bring people closer.

 

Today, every pizza we bake carries that purpose.
To remind people to slow down.
To sit together.
To talk, laugh, and create memories.
Because real joy isn’t found in grand moments, rather it’s found in the simple act of sharing a meal with the people we love.
